Playhouse Montessori Nursery Fete Opened!

Karen Brett, Nasreen Hudda and moi.
I had the most welcome honour of opening the Playhouse Montessori Nursery Fete on Saturday (14.09.13), in Norbury. When I arrived I spotted my old friend from school, Karen - we were in the same class at Woodcote High School 27 years ago - walking a pony in the front garden of the nursery! Karen, who works at the nursery, invited me to attend the event and to say a few words.

I had an informative chat with Mrs Hudda, and a number of the parents and nursery assistants. Interestingly, the kids are only fed vegetarian snacks and meals. Are you following German Greens?!

When introduced to the parents and children, Karen, Mrs Hudda and I decided that as I wasn't an MP, or a councillor, the best to thing to do was to introduce me as Croydon's Green Knight!!Naturally, the joke afterwards was I should have said my piece whilst on the horse!

Fracking in the local news

Page 3 - Croydon Advertiser August 23rd 2013
Online version of above article

Our local party is getting some good coverage in the local press on the issue of fracking. Again we are campaigning on an issue of principle.....just like on the incinerator. Gordon was quoted in Inside Croydon here.

The picture in the above article appears in this video.

Scene at the main camp on Direct Action Day at Balcombe

It was good to see many locals at the camp on the day I went to Balcombe. They stood out! The average protester looked new age/grungy. I sometimes wonder if  HM intelligence services deliberately send undercover officers to ecological protests in extreme hippy-esque garb. Apart from blending in, these officers would add fuel to the, 'benefit scrounging hippies only turn up to this type of protest' argument. The reality is that 'ordinary' people who wouldn't ordinarily support such a campaign are very concerned about fracking.

Labour's duplicitous position in print

From Croydon Advertiser - Fri 30th Aug 2013

This article is as a result of the following press release. The leader of Croydon Labour again maintains the pathetic defence of me accusing Labour of scaremongering. For the record, scaremongering was precisely what they did in the Waddon by-election. I wrote about it back in 2009.

Newman knows that he is free to continue his and Croydon Labour's duplicity on the issue of the incinerator. This is because, I imagine, about 1 in 10,000 Labour voters know of the unforgivable lack of integrity behind Labour's campaign activity. In fact, Newman could have come clean and said that they had indeed been politicking, and now having realised the error of their ways, and the importance of the issue, they will stop cheating their voters. Regrettably an admission of this type would not make any difference to their vote. Why?? Because the rank and file of Labour voters would never find out.
